Epoxy Garage Floors for Homes in Kissimmee
Request an estimate for your garage floor
Epoxy garage floors are a hard, sealed coating rolled over a prepared concrete slab. The coating resists oil, tire marks, water and daily wear. It also gives the garage a clean, finished look that a bare slab cannot match.
Snakeconcert Floor Coating is a referral service. It does not coat, grind or repair floors. Independent providers in our network do that work. You tell us about your garage, your request is routed to a local provider, and you compare written quotes. This page explains the process in order so you know who does what. It also covers prep, system types, topcoats, care and the questions to ask before you say yes.
First, the Label
Snakeconcert Floor Coating is a referral service. It does not coat, grind or repair anything. Independent providers in our network do the work, and they set their own schedules, prices and terms.
Your part is short. Describe the garage. A provider contacts you. You compare written quotes. Request a callback to check provider availability, or use the request form.
Garage Floor Getting Worse? Start Here
Check this list today. Any one item is a good reason to ask for an estimate.
- Old paint or coating that peels or bubbles
- Fine dust coming off the slab when you sweep
- Oil or fluid stains that keep spreading
- Cracks you can catch a fingernail in, or crumbling edges
- Damp patches that return after dry weather
Next, take photos in good light. Note the garage size and any earlier coatings. A provider can use this to give you a more useful first answer.
Why Prep Matters More Than the Product
Epoxy bonds to a clean, rough surface. It does not bond well to dust, grease or weak concrete. So prep decides how long the floor lasts.
Most providers open the pores of the slab with a diamond grinder or a shot blaster. Then they fill cracks and chipped spots. Skipping this step is a common reason coatings lift within a year or two.
Ask how the surface will be prepped before you ask about color.
Humidity and Slab Moisture
Many homes here are concrete block on a slab. The air is humid most of the year, and summer storms roll in almost daily. Moisture can travel up through the slab as vapor.
That vapor can push a coating off the floor. Careful providers test the slab first. Some use a moisture-blocking primer when readings run high.
Ask to see the test result. Ask what the plan is if the number is too high.
Common Epoxy Floor Systems
There are four setups you will hear about.
Solid Color
One or two coats of colored epoxy. Smooth, simple and easy to wipe.
Flake or Chip
Colored flakes are scattered into wet epoxy. The floor gets texture and hides dirt. This is the most common route to custom floor finishes in a garage.
Metallic
Pigments swirl through the coat for a marbled look. It costs more and needs a skilled hand.
Polyaspartic or Hybrid
Some providers use a faster-curing topcoat over epoxy. Ask whether it suits your garage and your schedule.
What a Typical Install Looks Like
This is the usual order. Providers vary, so confirm each step in the quote.
1. First, vehicles and loose items come out. 2. Next, the slab is ground or blasted. 3. Then cracks and joints are repaired and the dust is vacuumed. 4. A primer goes on. 5. The base coat is rolled out. 6. Flakes are added, if the system uses them. 7. A clear topcoat seals it.
Many jobs take a few days, including cure time. Cure time before cars return depends on the products used.
Topcoats and UV Exposure
Plain epoxy can yellow in strong sun. A garage with a wide door and afternoon light shows this fastest. A UV-stable topcoat, often polyurethane or polyaspartic, slows the color shift and resists scuffs.
Ask which topcoat is in the quote. Ask for the product name in writing.
Getting the Garage Ready
Do these before the provider arrives:
- Clear out cars, shelves, bins and tools
- Pull items away from the walls
- Note any leak from the door seal or roof
- Plan where the vehicles will park
- Tell the provider about pets and children at home
Storm season matters here. During hurricane season, ask how the schedule shifts if heavy rain is forecast.
Caring for Your New Floor
Keep it simple:
- Sweep or dust mop weekly
- Wipe spills when they happen
- Use a mild cleaner, not harsh acids
- Ask the provider about hot tires, which can mark softer coatings
- Put pads under jack stands and heavy metal tools
Questions to Ask the Installer
1. How will you prep the slab? 2. Will you test for moisture, and what happens if the test is high? 3. Which products and how many coats? 4. Which topcoat, and is it UV stable? 5. How long until I can park on it? 6. What does your written warranty cover?
Next, the Quote
Get at least two written quotes. A clear quote lists square footage, prep method, products, coats, topcoat, cure time and warranty terms from the provider. If a quote is vague, ask for details. Prices vary a lot by job, so compare the scope, not only the total.
Protecting the Home's Value
A sealed floor makes a garage look finished. Buyers notice stains, dust and cracks. A well-done coating helps the house show well at resale, while a peeling one can become a talking point in negotiations.
Providers in our network may also handle other flooring work, such as hardwood flooring installation inside the house. Mention it when you ask.
What's Included
Surface Prep
Grinding or blasting, crack filling and dust removal so the coating can bond to the slab.
Moisture Check
Many providers test the slab for vapor and may add a primer when readings run high.
Base and Color Coats
Solid color, flake or metallic systems rolled out in the layers listed in your quote.
Clear Topcoat
A sealing layer for scuff resistance and UV protection, chosen by the provider.
Typical Epoxy Garage Floor Price Ranges
These are typical U.S. ranges and they vary by job, slab condition and product. A two-car garage is often 400 to 600 square feet. Treat these figures as a guide and get a written quote.
| Item | Typical range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Solid color epoxy | $3 – $7 per sq ft | Simple system; prep adds to the total |
| Flake or chip system | $4 – $9 per sq ft | Texture hides dirt and small flaws |
| Metallic epoxy | $7 – $14 per sq ft | Skilled work; more labor and material |
| UV-stable topcoat | $2 – $5 per sq ft | Sometimes included in the system price |
| Crack and joint repair | $150 – $1,000 | Depends on crack count and slab damage |
| Moisture test or primer | $100 – $800 | Needed more often on humid, slab-on-grade homes |

No obligationEpoxy Garage Floors FAQ
How long do epoxy garage floors last?
It depends on prep, moisture, sun exposure and use. A well-prepped floor with a UV-stable topcoat can last many years, while poor prep often fails early. Ask the provider what their warranty terms cover.
Can epoxy be applied over an old painted garage floor?
Usually the old paint must come off or be ground down first. Epoxy over loose paint tends to peel. A provider will inspect the surface and explain the prep needed in the written quote.
Does Snakeconcert Floor Coating install the epoxy floor?
No. Snakeconcert Floor Coating is a referral service. It connects you with independent providers in our network, and the provider you choose does the grinding, coating and sealing under their own terms.
